Personal Introduction
Hello! My name is James Brown and I am the perfect person to be your next English teacher.
I have been working in Korea since January 2010. During this time in both public schools and private academies, I have been teaching english to elementary, middle and high school students, as well as teachers and adults. I have taught in Deokjeong (Yangju City), Jeonju and Jeongeup. I was fortunate to study a Korean language paper at Victoria University in 2006, and over the last year I have enriched my understanding and interest in Korea’s quick paced and extensive language, history, culture, and landscape.
I was the youngest person in New Zealand to obtain NZSB diploma’s in both Public Speaking and Speech & Drama prior to attending university. I have a lot of experience with speech making, judging and presenting through years of involvement with the New Zealand Speech Board as well as personal pursuits. This is why I would be a fantastic teacher for your school
I am an intelligent, interesting and fun person with many interests/hobbies. I
am very active and have a continual passion for sports and the outdoors. I am a
very competitive sportsman, particularly in football, cricket, touch rugby,
basketball, squash, swimming, surfing, snow-sports and hunting (diving, fishing
and shooting).
I enjoy and have studied a wide range of books, both English and foreign, and attend film and theatre shows as often as my wallet allows, especially Asian and New Zealand productions.
In 2008 I invested my life savings in a new small business in New Zealand.. Life
Incorporated produces bottled spring-water in bio-degradable bottles and
distributes them around Wellington and NZ. This is a long term project with hopes
of a return on investment in the next two years as the business continues to
expand and negotiate a tough economic climate in New Zealand and overseas.
I am also interested in film production and have worked with a New Zealand school
principal in teaching and film projects since 2003. I have completed brief travel
adventures in the past, venturing to Rarotonga in the Pacific Islands, Australia and
Thailand. The Pacific Islands trip established my passion for writing and journalism,
with my first newspaper article in Wellington’s Dominion Post in 2007.
Please read my attached C.V. and consider me for any positions that you have
available. Written references are available upon request. I look forward to your
reply.
