Working History * CURRENT EMPLOYMENT
- English Teacher: E-BoYoung Talking Club; Feb 2010 – current
- This is my first teaching post. During this job (and currently), I have developed a level of patience that has been important to my personal growth. Through my experience as a teacher I have been able to consistently prepare and organise lessons in engaging presentations. I have further developed my already burgeoning liaison abilities, and I have additionally researched and successfully executed my own taught topics covering a myriad of subject of areas from the World Cup to The Solar System and The Environment.

- Author and Freelance Writer: March 09 – current; pro bono

* PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT
Waiter, barman and grounds man at the Stranda Hotell, Stranda, Norway, Mar 09 – June 09.

* MOST RECENT UK EMPLOYMENT
- Assistant Manager: Subway; Jan 08 - Mar 09; £6.00 per hour.
- As a supervisor I was responsible for a small team of 1-3 people. It was my responsibility to consider and take charge of health and hygiene, food preparation, and of course, customer service. My promotion to Assistant Manager included extra responsibilities such as the ordering of stock, entering deliveries onto a database, stocktaking, and other management duties such as discipline.

* BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
- Client Rep:LUK Group; Sept 05 - Nov 05; Performance related pay.
- My business work experience comes from direct sales. I was employed by the LUK Group in 2005-6 to promote London fashion Studios in the South West. In this job I had to approach clients with the intent to sell and promote the Studios. This included detailed sales pitches, closing and consolidating sales.

* Recruitment Manager:LUK Group; Nov 05 - Feb 06; Performance related pay.
- From Client Rep, I moved into the recruitment side of the business. Through direct recruitment (effectively the same process as direct sales), I briefed potential employees about the company and our clients. I would then invite the individual for an interview, some of which I conducted myself. When candidates were hired into the recruitment side of the business, I would often train and manage them in the small team I was responsible for.

* EMPLOYMENT HISTORY TO DATE
- My other working experience is in retail. (Asda Wal-Mart Weston-Super-Mare: June 01 - Feb 02; Wilkinson’s Weston-Super-Mare: June 02 - Sept 04; Wilkinson’s Bridgewater: July 05 - Sept 05 and again June 06 - Nov 06; Wilkinson’s Bristol: Nov 06 - Sept 07; Bridgwater Wilkinson‘s Sept 07- Jan 08) While in retail, I have had a wide range of jobs and worked on several shift times. My roles have included Porter, Cashier, Sales Assistant, Merchandiser, and Delivery team. I have worked morning shifts: 6am - 12noon; day shifts: 9am - 5pm, evening shifts: 6pm - 10pm and night shifts: 10pm - 6am.
Personal Introduction # VOLUNTEER WORK

• I received the highest grades ever awarded to an A2 student for both my Archaeology and History coursework (48/48; 99/100) at Bridgwater College (2003).
• I completed an ‘Insight into Media Course’ at Bristol University (2005).
• I completed my Presidential and Vice-Presidential training at the University of Bristol Student Union (2005).
• I served in the Paratrooper Artillery while I was at university (266 Battery, Royal Artillery attached to the Paratrooper Regiment, 100 Yeomanry).

• I have written a trilogy of novels entitled the Serengeti Plane (the first of which is published on Amazon Kindle, and is soon to be available in hardback form in the United States). I have also recently finished the first book of my sequel trilogy, The Serengeti Liner. I am currently working on book five.
• I also regard organising trips to both Norway (for three people) and South Korea (which included work and travel) as achievements due to the nature and level of planning and organisation that was involved.

# HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
- My main love is writing; and writing novels in particular. I also enjoy writing poetry, engaging in photography, dabbling in painting, boxing, going to the gym, watching football (I have a particular weakness for Liverpool F.C) and playing chess. I have also recently been introduced to Badook, which I love. More generally, I see myself as a culture vulture. I have a soft spot for the cinema, for going to the theatre to watch classical plays, as well as watching live comedy shows. Travelling is another favoured pastime of mine. My last holiday (if one does not include South Korea or Norway) was a short break to ancient Milan. My favourite country before Korea was Japan, where I mediated with Buddhist Monks, visited Hiroshima, conquered Mt. Nisako and drank saké in the beautiful city of Kyoto. But after living and working in South Korea, it fast became my favoured country - after my homeland. Egypt is another favourite with its majestic Pyramids and tranquil Blue Nile. It is also my ambition to trek to Machu Piccuh in Peru and wander across the Great Wall of China.
