Personal Introduction # Personal summary
I am a 26 year old from the UK with a background in Town Planning. I am a native English speaker and have a Bachelors degree and a Graduate Diploma from Newcastle University in the UK. I have spent the last four years working in professional roles in Newcastle, England. I have worked with children in a class room environment in the past as part of a previous job. I enjoy travelling and love playing any and all sports, spending time outdoors and reading.

# Relevant skills and experience
* English language skills – I am a native English speaker and have excellent spelling and grammar. I have GCSEs in both English Language and English Literature and an A Level in
English Literature. My previous job was at a law firm where a good grasp of the English language was essential. I can also speak fluent American English. I also enjoy reading a wide range of both factual and fictional books in my spare time.

* Academic Achievement – I have achieved good marks in all my academic studies, including my University studies. I have also gained a professional qualification in Town Planning and I am now a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

* Working with children – I have experience working with children in a classroom environment. I ran a number of projects in schools as part of my role in a previous job. This included
delivering lessons and working with the children on urban planning projects. I developed skills such as talking to children and helping them learn, and I have acquired a good classroom manner. I have also been involved in the UK’s Young Enterprise scheme, where professionals help school children design, start and run a business.

* Leadership skills – I am heavily involved in the UK’s Town Planning professional organisation – the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). I sit on the national General Assembly and also
contribute to the regional young professional group, including involvement in organising a national conference regarding Community Engagement.

* Communication skills – In my professional life I have often worked with community groups, children, clients and other professionals and have shown my ability to communicate with wide and diverse groups of people. I have excellent presentation skills and have shown my ability to communicate complex subjects to children. I know the importance of being diplomatic and communicating in an appropriate way for the each individual.

* Culturally sensitive – I am at present travelling the world and I love to learn about other cultures and ways of life. I always give other people’s views and beliefs a great deal of respect.
