• July 2008 – June 2010, Urban Planner, Gateshead Council
I had two part time jobs at Gateshead Council; one job in Regeneration and one job in Planning Policy.
I project managed a variety of projects and studies and lead on housing policy in the Council. Both positions relied on my excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• September 2007 - June 2008, Urban Planner, Castle Morpeth Council
I maintained and updated a housing database systems for the Council, strengthening my
communication and technical skills.
• July 2006 – July 2007, Urban Planner, City of Edinburgh Council
I worked at Edinburgh City Council as part of my postgraduate diploma. I worked in a variety of different sections, and developed an understanding of the different roles an urban planner can have.
• September 2004 – June 2006, Sales Assistant, Dorothy Perkins
Customer service and a cheery disposition were important in this role, where I also showed my ability to deliver excellent customer service.

# Personal summary
I am 26 years old from the United Kingdom with a background in Urban Planning. I am a native English speaker and also speak fluent American English. I have a Bachelors degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Town Planning from Newcastle
University. I have spent the last five years working as an urban planner in the North East of England and Scotland. I enjoy working with children and through my role as an urban planner I often visit local schools to teach the children about sustainability. I have also previously worked as a babysitter. I have a passion for travelling, spending time outdoors and enjoy socialising.

• English language skills – I am a native English speaker and have excellent spelling and grammar. I got an A grade in English Literature and Language at GCSE level. I am an enthusiastic reader in my own spare time. I am also fluent in American English.
• Intelligent – I have achieved consistently high marks in all my academic studies, including achievement awards throughout my high school studies.
• Good with children – I worked as a babysitter throughout my teenage years which has given me experience of caring for and taking responsibility for young children.

In that position I showed my ability to give instruction and help correct inappropriate behaviour where necessary.
• Communication skills – In my professional life I have often liaise with members of the public as well as local government officials. I understand the importance of being diplomatic and communicating in an appropriate way for the customer.
• Culturally sensitive – I have travelled extensively in Europe, South America and in Asia, and have friends from all over the world. I love to learn about other cultures and ways of life, and I believe in respecting the views and beliefs of all others.
