: As the Manager of the Quality Control laboratory in this pharmaceutical firm, among other duties, I had to teach new employees, many of who were not native English speakers, the requirements of the Corporation and the governmental regulatory organizations. I was responsible for keeping abreast of changes in the regulatory requirements and training my own and other departments about these changes. Training employees about new analytical methods was also a big responsibility. I was also involved in adapting a software programme written for our firm and ensuring that proper English was used from the original German. To do this I interacted with German speaking headquarter personnel regarding business matters. For this I was uniquely qualified since I am a native English speaker as well as a fluent German speaker. This involved some face to face contact both here and travel to headquarters in Germany.
Managing of personnel and resources by scheduling, organizing and budgeting as well as purchasing was also part of the responsibilities of this position. I became proficient in the use of standard computer programmes such as Word, Word Perfect and Excel.
