Personal Introduction
I have recently graduated from a four-year degree in Manchester, and I would like to pursue a teaching career in South Korea. Alongside my studies, I have volunteered for a group called standforpeace. Standforpeace is a University group that educates students about some of the world’s most pressing issues. The main duties of this role included managing and organizing standforpeace’s program across many UK University campuses.
This experience has helped my understanding of how to organise a teaching session, and communicate with people of all ages, and in particular to groups. I am a hard worker and friendly. The time that I have spent managing standforpeace has allowed me to develop excellent interpersonal skills combined with a patient and approachable manner. This has also helped me form many rewarding relationships with fellow students and active participants from the general public.
I have heard many positive things about teaching English as a foreign language from friends who are currently working in South Korea, and it has been my intention to pursue a long-term placement there for some time.
I would be very happy to be given the opportunity to teach in South Korea as it offers a unique cultural experience, with the chance to develop myself both personally and professionally. I have lived and worked abroad previously, and I feel my prior work experience would serve me well as a classroom-based teacher. Finally, I believe that the opportunity to teach abroad – particularly in such a vibrant location as South Korea, would present a fantastic opportunity for someone who is about to embark on a career in the teaching profession.
