* Winter 2011-Spring 2011,
: Special Needs Support Worker
: Cloverdale Preschool (Victoria, BC)
- Worked as a support worker for a child with behavioral special needs, age 5, during preschool class. This involved developing a 'care plan' for the child, using different support strategies, one- on-one instruction, and social and emotional guidance. This position also required a great deal of communication between myself and parents as well as funders from the Native Friendship Center in Victoria, BC. Daily records of behaviour, challenges, strengths and goals for the future were also part of my role as a support worker.

: Cloverdale Out of School Care (Victoria, BC)
- Worked as a program leader for children in grades 3, 4 and 5, providing programming and activities before and after school. Activities include different themed weeks, and clubs such as baking, yoga, sports, etc. Position also included attending various childcare workshops in the general Victoria area.

: West Shore Parks and Recreation, Juan de Fuca Centre (Victoria, BC)
- Worked full time as a co-ordinator for an arts and crafts program for children ages 8-12. Involves detailed planning and leading of a wide variety of arts activities such as, painting, sketching, silk screening, pottery, sculpture and games.

- Worked full time in a busy retail environment. Required an extensive knowledge of jewelry design and crafting techniques, an ability for creative problem solving, as well as a personable disposition for outstanding customer service.

: English as a Secondary Language (ESL) Teacher
: KNS Language Institute (Kaohsiung, Taiwan)
- Worked full time teaching youth ages 6-15 years old in a professional environment in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Taught basic to advanced English grammar as well as speaking, reading and writing comprehension. Duties included extensive lesson planning, grading homework, creating test banks, and managing a busy classroom in a foreign environment.

: Programmer and Camp Counselor
- Lieutenant Governor’s Aboriginal Summer Reading Camps (Frontier College) Programmed and ran literacy outreach programs in fly-in First Nations’ communities in Northern Ontario. Organized various educational and leadership activities for Aboriginal youth ages 6-16.

- Aided in the opening of a storefront with local artisans in Kingston, Ontario. Contributed jewelry and original artwork, as well as worked in the store.
* Summer 2007,
: Wilderness Guide and Youth Worker
: Camp Outlook (An Ontario Charitable Organization)
- Led a total of four 10 day canoe trips in Algonquin Park with at-risk youth ages 11-14 years old. Primary duties included support and mentoring for youth in need. Also included planning routes, equipment and menu as well as being responsible for the well being and safety of campers in an isolated wilderness setting.
