: Residential Child care worker and keyworker: This job involved looking after disabled young people in a home environment, helping them to fit into society, enjoy life and gain independent life skills.
- Duties included: working with children on life skills and communication, co-ordinating activities, accompanying children at school, personal care, liaising with social workers, teachers and families, writing observations and reports, being responsible for the children’s well-being, planning holidays, budgeting, helping with education i.e. arts and crafts, reading skills and writing, and encouraging personal development.
Whilst working for Pathway Care Solutions I would also help out at the young people’s schools, giving me experience in the classroom and knowledge of the environment, including lesson structure and management of a group.
