Personal Introduction I am looking to bring my diverse teaching abilities and enthusiastic attitude to effectively succeed in a university setting. I am a professional, motivated teacher who enjoys being in the classroom and takes a personal interest in the education and well-being of my students.

My Qualifications:

 Wide-Ranging Teaching Experience
In 1998 I began teaching as a search and rescue instructor. Since then I have taught American inner-city students, hurricane response volunteers, and monks in Thailand and Korea. As an employed teacher and as a volunteer while in Korea I have educated university students, doctors, managers of large corporations, government employees, and both wealthy and disadvantaged children.

 Amicable Professionalism
Whether at an adult academy in Yeouido, a university in Gimpo, study rooms in Guro-dong, or elementary schools, I have always been able to forge professional relationships with co-teachers and staff in order to better serve our students.

 Diverse Teaching Skills
As a teacher in Korean academies and elementary schools I have acquired a variety of abilities, from planning lessons to developing supplementary materials to incorporating creative teaching techniques to capture the students’ attention.

 Adaptability and Flexibility
My experiences as a teacher in three countries have trained me to plan for the unexpected and to cooperate with others as situations change. I have often been placed in front of classes with no warning or time to prepare and still been able to accomplish the learning objectives in an enjoyable way.

 Experience as a Student in Korea
As a student at Sogang University I gained an understanding of Korean university teaching styles and culture.

By providing a learning environment that is low-anxiety and interactive we encourage students to participate in their education, to identify language learning methods that are most beneficial to them as individuals, and to genuinely prepare themselves for future interactions with English speakers. I am committed to the idea that teaching English in this engaging, organic way truly empowers students. It is my hope that I will be able to employ this philosophy in the vibrant academic atmosphere of your university.
