Working History
English Instructor, Avalon English, Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea
(March 2011-March 2012)
Over the course of my time with Avalon English, I taught elementary students and in particular a focus on 1st and 2nd grade learners. As a result I'm well-versed in the teaching of phonics and basic speaking skills. I also have experience of teaching other elementary school grades and feel comfortable teaching these levels. Other duties outside of classroom activities included contacting students to develop their phone English skills, testing potential students and taking part in activities such as competitions
Personal Introduction
I'm Euan Wallace. I'm a British university graduate. I've spent the last year teaching elementary school children in an English academy in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do. This has been one of the most enriching and rewarding experiences of my life. I have found a real love and enthusiasm for teaching and want to continue my teaching career in Korea. I want to face greater challenges and as such my career objective is to teach in a public school in this country. I think that my boundless enthusiasm and understanding of Korean culture and the innate needs of young Korean English learners are the key factors that make me a good teacher. My teaching philosophy centres around the idea that students should have fun while learning. To that end I try to make my lessons as entertaining and as inclusive as possible. My dream is to continue to gain experience and to push myself to become a better teacher for the benefit of my students.
