Personal Introduction
# INTERESTS
Chess in its international, Chinese, Korean and Japanese varieties as well as a new variety, invented in New Zealand in 1994, which is known as “Big Battle”
Baduk ( Known as Go in New Zealand ) - which is a major Eastern Asian board game. I filled various office positions including, at various times, treasurer, president, secretary and committee member for the New Zealand GO Society and have played overseas as part of a New Zealand National Team.
Promotion of these games and committee work.
Directly because of these interests I have mixed with Chinese and Koreans for nearly thirty years. This may be the reason that my first Korean employer said that I had what he called “contact” which he said most westerners did not have.
Other pastimes include playing many kinds of board games, badminton, tennis, listening to music, walking and drawing.
