Personal Introduction
First I'd like to thank you for taking the time to consider me for employment in your organization. Despite my many years of writing professionally both as a freelance writer, editor, and as an executive in charge of public relations for various associations and non-governmental organizations, I find it difficult to adequately aggregate my skills and various training that I've gone through over the past ten years. I find it hard to properly judge what [you] as an employer might be seeking first and foremost in an employee, and this is perhaps one of the reasons why I try to tutor myself in a broad ranging set of skills that I think will add greatly to any organization, making me human capital worth investing in.
From the time I finished school, I began a career which started off with me employed at Revenue Canada, now known as the Canadian Revenue Agency, actioning accounts in the failure-to-file non-compliant department that were more than years years non-compliant. For this job I felt I lacked the skills needed at the time they hired me, but I quickly learned and later excelled at the mission before me. After working out my contract at Revenue Canada, I realized to properly advance in the public sector I needed to further my formal post-secondary education. In university I studied political science, economics, and business communications. All three areas I thoroughly enjoyed these subjects which became my passion both during my academic career and since convocation.
During my time at university I served my school to the best of my ability. I was twice elected by the student body to represent them on the school Senate. During my time I actively pursued three platform promises and all of which were successful. After my second term, nearing the end of my time at school, I finished my Senate incumbency leaving a positive mark on my alma mater.
Since graduation up to present I have spent four years working for the Gyeonggi Office of Education and one year at one of the finest universities in Korea, Gyeongin National University of Education, enlisted as a visiting professor. Also, in the last few years during my time in Korea, I have served as a president of a teachers' association and was appointed to manage an education trade magazine for English teachers in Korea.
All of these varied experiences have resulted in a robust employee [such as myself] being able to easily incorporate these adroit skills in your organization. I have attached a esume to this document which will go into greater detail of just a few of the trades I have been lucky enough to work at/with over the past few years. If you are looking for a young but mature, hard working individual, capable of working independently or with a team, I am that person.
I look forward to meeting with you and discussing at greater length how I can add to your company.
