Job Description JOB OPENING: FULL-TIME STUDENT AFFAIRS COORDINATOR
ONE-YEAR RENEWABLE CONTRACT
START DATE – IMMEDIATE OPENING

GNUCR, a joint project between the University of California, Riverside, and the district city government of Gangnam, is seeking a qualified student affairs coordinator. GNUCR offers an Intensive English Program composed of six levels. UC Riverside supplies the curriculum and manages the academic program. Coordinator’s contract is with the City of Gangnam.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
l) B.A. and TESOL certificate;
2) At least 2 years teaching experience;
3) Administrative/office management experience;
4) Familiarity with American college and university system;
5) Familiarity with U.S. visa application process for study abroad students;
6) Native fluency in English and Korean.

RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to, the following):
1. Oversee all aspects of student affairs, including but not limited to: registration, enrollment, placement testing, and maintaining student records.
2. Supervise the information desk staff.
3. Assist the director with administrative affairs.
4. Serve as an interpreter/translator as necessary.
5. Organize and participate in student activities.
6. Proctor, grade, and record examinations, Computer-Based Placement Examinations, and other tests and exams, as necessary.
7. Counsel students on studying abroad (i.e. how to choose a school, what steps are necessary, etc.), studying English, career planning.
8. Provide students with resources (websites, printouts, catalogs).
9. Assist students in the application process (editing applications and essays, making inquiries).
10. Conduct workshops on studying abroad (college admissions process,
writing application essay, getting ready to go).
11. Assist students with visa application process.
12. Inform students of upcoming study abroad fairs in the Seoul area
13. Place announcements on GNUCR's website.
14. Provide students with updated catalogs/magazines on studying abroad.
15. Substitute teaching as necessary.

DETAILS: 1) 2.65-2.8 million won/month depending on qualifications and experience; 2) airfare if hired outside of Korea; 3) 50% of health insurance and national pension paid; 4) single/studio-style housing or allowance of 500,000 won per month; 5) 20 paid vacation days; 6) overtime pay at 35,000 won/hour or 50,000 won/hour for classes taught outside of work hours.
