1. Duties
The Teacher Training Instructor will be responsible for (among other things)
- Giving lectures to Korean English Teachers
- Giving lectures to native English assistant teachers and English conversation instructors, as necessary
- Training course(s) and curriculum design, and material development
- Assisting with international and English education affairs, as necessary
2. Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications are as follows:
- Hold at least a Master’s degree in the English education field including TESOL and English Lit.
*two years of teaching experience required for non-education majors
- Be a citizen of a country where English is the primary language (Australia, Britain, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and U.S.A)
- Over ten years of formal education in an English speaking country
3. Employment Period
- One year contract beginning as soon as possible
- Renewable upon mutual written agreement
- Working hours: 8 hours a day(flexible, according to the training schedule), Monday to Friday (up to 22 actual teaching hours per week)
4. Salary & Benefits
- Monthly salary: 2,900,000 KRW per month
- Housing allowance: 400,000 KRW per month
- 18 working days of vacation
- 50% of National Health Insurance and 50% of National Pension premiums paid by employer
- Severance pay upon completion of the term of employment
- Additional overtime pay, as applicable
5. Required Documents
The following documents must be submitted with the application. All must be mailed or e-mailed to the address specified. No fax will be accepted.
Application Package:
- Completed application form (downloadable from http://www.dje.go.kr), which includes Personal Essay and Self Medical Assessment
- Two sealed recommendation letters from two separate professional sources(e.g. a current co-teacher, supervisor or principal or a former processor or employer)
- Copy of diplomas and transcripts
- Proof of teaching experience issued by official institute for non-education majors
Documents to be submitted once hired:
- Official medical report
- Apostilled criminal record check
- Apostilled copy of diploma
- Original sealed transcripts
- Photocopy of passport photo-page (If applying from within Korea, please include the visa page of the passport as well as a copy of both sides of the Alien Registration Card)
If applicable:
- Copy of Teacher’s certificate
- TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certificate

7. Interview
