Seoul English Village Pungnap Campus was established in 2004. SEV is located in Songpa-Gu, on the south-east side of Seoul. We are a 30 min subway trip into the heart of the city. We are 5 mins to Technomart, Olympic Park, Jamsil Sports Complex and one block from the beautiful Han River.
We are Korea's leading English immersion school, with programs running from 1 day to 13 day camps. Our role is to encourage the students to develop their English language skills in an open and entertaining environment. It has been well-proven that people learn languages best by immersion in a native speaking environment. At Seoul English Village, everyone only speaks English. Staying at the village and interacting with native English speakers, though only for a few days, is an unusual experience but which students will learn language and culture simultaneously without travelling abroad!
The SEV curriculum focuses 3 types of learning
-Real-life situational learning with a fun approach. Many of the classrooms are recreations of real-life situations like police station, hospital, bank, restaurant, post office. These classes are set-up to recreate these situations, and the students learn how to communicate and then practice role-plays in these classes, such as opening an account at a bank, ordering food at a restaurant, and reporting a lost item at the police station.
-Academic situational classes such as Geography, Chemistry, Travel, Library, Arts. Students will learn stimulated academic school environment, studying different countries, conducting science experiments, checking out books and working with arts and crafts.
-Fun & Games students learn English through taking part in leisure activities such as swimming, watching movies, singing Karaoke, shooting pool and playing various games.
We have a large campus, with over 25 teaching classrooms, a swimming pool, basketball, volleyball and badminton courts, soccer field and 400-student capacity Auditorium.
We have a teaching staff of 35, with a 50/50 mix of Korean and International teachers. We have a young, vibrant staff, currently consisting of teachers from England, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Korea.
Class sizes are usually 12-15 students.
Age group is usually elementary and middle school students (10-14 years old).
Our camp is managed and operated by Herald Media, which manages several immersion camps within Korea.
