Established in 1965, Cheongwon Elementary has grown to become one of the premier private schools in Korea. In 2006, Cheongwon launched an ambitious English immersion program with the aim of becoming the top English-focused private elementary school in Korea. Our comprehensive immersion program includes using the same textbooks as North American students. Our students are exposed to several disciplines including math, science, and literature, all taught in English. Our native teachers all have several years of ESL experience in Korea, and are dedicated to making the goal of Cheongwon into a reality.
Job description:
Instructors will be responsible for a maximum of 26 classes per week (40 minute classes). Payment for classes exceeding this amount will be 30,000won per class. Instructors are expected to behave in a professional manner, meaning that they may be required from time to time to participate in projects or activities that exceed standard work hours. Instructors will be required to teach a two week camp during both winter and summer holidays.
Work conditions:
One year contract (beginning Mar. 2009)
Salary: Starting 2.3 million won
Housing: Single accommodation provided or 400,000won per month allowance
Airfare Allowance: airfare allowance provided
Severance bonus: 1 month's salary paid at the conclusion of the contract
Medical insurance: Half paid by employee, half by Cheongwon
Vacation: 2 weeks in summer and 3 weeks in winter, 3 weeks in spring (paid)
Work Hours: M-F 8:20am-3:30pm
All Korean holidays paid
