3. Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a native English speaker with an F-4 visa (Overseas Korean), or F-5 visa (Permanent residency), who fulfills the following conditions:
(1) Bachelor"s degree acquired in a country where English is the first spoken language in one of the following fields (translation, modern languages and/or in a technical field), or equivalent qualification
(2) At least 1 year of experience in translating and editing and other related areas
(3) Broad general knowledge of culture and ability to assimilate knowledge on a wide variety of technical and specialized subjects
(4) Ability to work with computer systems
(5) Excellent knowledge of English and Korean
4. Principal duties
(1) Proofreading documents translated from Korean into English in a wide range of technical subjects
(2) Proofreading English documents, speeches and letters drafted by staff members
(3) Training the English skill of staff members and evaluating job applicants" English proficiency
5. Working Conditions
(1) Contract period: 1 year
- The contract could be extended according to evaluation of performance
(2) Working hours: 9 am to 6 pm
(3) Working date: Monday to Friday
(4) Salary and other benefits:
- Basic pay 38.14 million won/year before tax
- Variable pay 2.8 million won/year (maximum) before tax

KIPI (Korea Institute of Patent Information) is a non-profit organization established in July 1995 in accordance with the Civil Act. Its major duties are to support the administrative affairs of KIPO. For the duties, it launched an online patent information search service (KIPRIS) on July 1996, and was awarded contracts to conduct prior art search, IPC (International Patent Classification) assignment, and trademark search by KIPO on August 1996, January 2001, and February 2003 respectively. In addition to supporting KIPO, KIPI has been providing a patent information service (FORX) for the private sector companies.
