Native English teacher recruitment of Sungdeok High School is announced as follows.

Gwangju Sungdeok High School is looking for a foreign teacher.

1. Number of opening position : To be confirmed
2. Contract period : 2012. 3. 1 ~ 2013. 2.28.
3. Eligibility :
* Be a citizen of a country where English is the primary language. (Applicants of Korean heritage who has a permanent residency in a country where English is the primary language must have studied from the junior high level(7th grade) and resided for at least 10 years or more in that country.
* Hold at least a Bachelor's degree
* Be mentally and physically healthy
* Have a good command of the English language
* Have the ability and willingness to adapt to Korean culture and living
* If you are a male citizen of the Republic of Korea under the age of 35, you must have either completed mandatory military service or have received an official waiver
* Those who have secondary school experience will be preferred.
4. As a minimum you must include:

* a completed application form with personal essay
* personal medical assessment, official medical report
* 2 recommendation letters.
* Original Diploma, Degree, Testamur (as appropriate): In the event that you are submitting photocopies of your diploma(s), degree(s), or testamur(s) you may still be required to bring the originals to the interview.
* Original Sealed Transcripts(opened transcripts are not valid): All applicants are required to submit an original sealed transcript pursuant to the Immigration Act effective May 16, 2005.
* Criminal Background Check: You will be required to bring in an official Criminal Record Check in a sealed envelope from a police department. This must be submitted before the interview.
* Copy of your passport personal details (Copy of Passport Photo page)
* One passport-size photos: Glue one photo on the original application form in the designated area.
✿ If applicable:
* Current copy of Alien Registration Card: If you are of Korean heritage and are a legal resident, not a citizen, of one of the designated six English speaking countries, submit a copy of your Alien Registration Card from the country where you are residing.
* Original Teaching Certificate(s) (e.g. Teacher¡¯s certificate, TESOL/ TEFL/ CELTA certificate): Only primary or secondary teacher¡¯s certificate will be considered when making ELI level placement decisions. If photocopies of certificates are submitted, they must be notarized by a Korean Embassy/Consulate. TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certificate(s) must be for a 100-plus-hour course.
* Proof of Teaching Experience: It must be in the form of a verification of employment listing the following: 1) name and contact information of the employee, 2) employment period, 3) position, 4)job description and duties, 5) average instruction time per week as a full-time instructor, and 6) employer¡¯s signature and/or official stamp(s).
* Proof of English Education from 7th grade for applicants of Korean heritage - either a citizen or a legal resident of one of the designated six English speaking countries - must have studied from the junior high school level (7th grade) and resided for at least 10 years in that country. This English education, beginning from junior high school, must be proved with transcripts and/or report cards.
5. Applications are accepted from the 1st of Feb. 2012 to the 3rd of Feb. 2012 (from 10AM to 4PM)
6. We'll announce the persons who pass the documentation on the 6th of Feb.
7. If you pass the documentation, you will have a teaching demonstration on the 7th of Feb.

Recruitment Criteria for Native English Teachers

[Common Conditions for Application]

[Employment Rates]
* Pay Level and Salary will follow the standards of EPIK.
1st Grade (Grade of 1+; 2.6 million won per month, 1st Grade; 2.4 million won per month)
Common Conditions for Application + Teaching Experience of 2 years or more + One of the following:
* Holder of Master's Degree/ Teacher certification holders for Elementary School or Secondary School/ TESOL,TEFL,CELTA Certification(more than 100 hours)

2nd Grade (Grade of 2+ ; 2.2 million won per month, 2nd Grade; Mon 2.1 million won per month)
Common Conditions for Application + One of the following:
* Holder of Master's Degree/ Teacher certification holders for Elementary School or Secondary School/ TESOL,TEFL,CELTA Certification(more than 100 hours) / 1 Year of English Education Career

3rd Grade : Common Conditions for Application(1.9 million won per month)

❊TESOL: Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
❊TEFL: Teaching English as a Foreign Language
❊Teaching Methods to People who are not native English speakers (Short Term, Long Term, 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 6 months etc.)
❊CELTA: Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults

[Major Contract Conditions]
1. Based on the pay level of EPIK contract, extra 100,000 won per month will be paid.
2. Actual class instruction hours shall not exceed twenty-two (22) hours per week. If exceed, instruction pay of 20,000 won per hour will be paid.
3. Housing : Provided Housing or the Housing Allowance (400,000 won) per month.
4. One time Settlement Allowance of 300,000 won when the Employee first begins the contract.
5. Entrance Allowance : 1,300,000 won upon the beginning of the Term of Employment.
6. Exit Allowance : 1,300,000 won if the Employee successfully completes his/her duties.
7. Contract Renewal Allowance of 2,000,000 Korean Won (KRW) within one month of the beginning of the new Term of Employment.
8. A total of 18 working days of paid leave not conflicting with the school schedule during summer or winter vacation every year. (Summer vacation : 8 days, Winter vacation : 10 days)
9. The Employer shall provide half of the Employee's medical insurance premium pursuant to the National Medical Insurance Act of Korea.
10. The Employer shall provide half of the national pension plan deduction (approximately 4.5% of salary)
11. Long-term care insurance premium, Employment Insurance, Accident Insurance
12. Severance pay : The Employee could be entitled to severance pay according to the standard formula upon successful completion.
