Position -- TECHNICAL PROOFREADER (Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics highly desirable)
Listing -- Y.P. Lee, Mock & Partners is seeking a native English speaking person with a technical background to proof read and edit patent specifications and other technical documents.
A degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics is highly desirable. Ability to speak and read Korean is also highly advantageous but not essential. We are looking for someone who can work full time and can sign a two-year contract.
This is a good opportunity to be exposed to a wide variety of cutting edge technologies, gain an understanding of Intellectual Property law, combine a technical degree with the study of law, and follow a professional career into IP law.
The successful applicant will work with other technical proof readers in the overseas department, where documents are translated from Korean to English, and will be able to communicate effectively with translators, patent attorneys, patent engineers, overseas attorneys, and so on.
Visa sponsorship, housing, and other benefits are provided. Starting salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. The successful applicant will receive a base salary plus overtime for any overtime hours that are worked.
