Great Teaching Opportunity in Quiet Naju City, Korea
Yeong Kang English Academy in Naju City, Jeollanam-do, is looking to fill English instructor positions starting ASAP.
The school is fully owned and managed by a Christian church. During the academy's history, all English instructors have completed (or will complete) their contracts, and this is just one sign of a cordial and honest working environment. There are five current native English speaking teachers, and you can request to speak to a current teacher to ask additional questions that may not be answered below. The school director speaks basic English and is very kind and supportive of the staff. The director is always willing to help with any problems that arise, be it something broken in the apartment, health issues, help with travel arrangements or day-to-day logistics of Korean life.

Job Description & Benefits:
Teaching:
Level of instruction: elementary – high-school
One year standard contract
6 teaching hours per day (30/week), 2:00 pm-8:00 pm or 3:00pm-9:00 pm.
School facilities include a building with 5 classrooms and a teachers' lounge equipped with a copier, PC, Internet access, and printer.
Student and Instructor books for teaching English are provided.
Class sizes range between approximately 8-15 students
Compensation and Reimbursement:
Salary: Minimum of 2,000,000 won (this is your net income after Korean taxes), paid monthly. (Actual offer may differ per individuals’ experience and ability)
Paid overtime (Overtime is almost never requested)
2 weeks (10 working days) of paid vacation during designated school holidays, plus all official national Korean holidays
Medical insurance paid 100%. Pension insurance paid 50%.
(***Pension insurance is offered only to Canada and American Citizens due to international agreement. If you are married, only one is eligible for Pension Insurance. The accrued money through pension insurance will be given to the employee at the end. For other countries citizens we will accommodate with 100% health insurance payment)
Tax will be paid by the employer
Roundtrip airfare expenses paid by the employer
Furnished apartment and all utilities are included
Housing Details:
Fully furnished spacious apartment (two bedrooms/three bedrooms, living room, kitchen, full bath, large screened veranda/balcony, Ondol floors) in an apartment building.
All utilities fully paid by the employer, including Internet access, electricity, cable TV, basic phone service, etc. Utilities could add up, but these are all taken care of for you!
Furnishings include: western-style bed, dresser and closet; sofa, armchair, office desk, desktop computer, a TV set, phone, bookcase; fully stocked kitchen with a large refrigerator, gas stove top, kitchen table with chairs, and various cookware and dinnerware; washing machine.
Apartment located within a 5 minute walk from the school. Same distance from the apartment to a bank, grocery, and bus stop.
Naju city is located about 45 minutes away by bus from Gwangju, the capital of Jeollanam-do (a city of 1.5 million). Naju City is quiet compared to Seoul and other large cities, but does offer a full-range of services - banking, grocery shopping, several hospitals, many restaurants and home-delivery options - without the pollution and hustle and bustle of a large city. Mountain hikes and exercise facilities are within a 15 minute walk from the teacher's residence.
